Shepherd’s Pasture as the shared place

Where good work can work together

Shepherd’s Pasture offers more than a location. It is a shared environment where trusted partners bring their own expertise, keep their distinct identity, and surround families and ministry workers with more connected support.

That support can include respite, renewal, debriefing, counseling connections and practical care—for military families and veterans, and for missionaries and their families.

  • One welcoming destination on 24 acres of East Texas piney woods
  • Less fragmentation for families, more possibility for partners
  • Built on 17+ years of hospitality, trust and relationships

Why partnership matters

Multiply what each partner can do

The model is designed to strengthen—not absorb—each organization. Partners keep their mission and identity while gaining the practical advantages of a shared place, trusted relationships and coordinated service.

Make more of every resource

Explore thoughtful ways to share space, equipment, volunteer capacity, knowledge and selected operating costs—without duplicating what another trusted partner already does well.

  • Shared place and infrastructure
  • Coordinated volunteer effort
  • Complementary expertise

Reach people who need what you do

Connect with families, service members, veterans, missionaries, ministry leaders and local neighbors through a place already built around hospitality, trust and meaningful relationships.

  • Warm referral pathways
  • Broader community visibility
  • One accessible destination

Surround the whole family with care

Create more connected support across body, mind, spirit and practical need. A coordinated network can reduce gaps and make each partner’s contribution more effective.

  • Clearer next-step referrals
  • Complementary programs
  • Relationship-centered service

Build something durable together

Test a practical collaborative model where shared stewardship can reduce strain, deepen relationships and help aligned organizations serve for the long term.

  • Responsible cost sharing
  • Collaborative problem-solving
  • Long-term shared learning

Help shape the pilot

Life wisdom shared

Senior women mentor teen girls and younger women in cooking, meal planning, household confidence, hospitality, budgeting, faith and family traditions.

Digital confidence

Students help senior adults use phones, email, video calling, online appointments, digital forms and basic internet safety.

Service together

Intergenerational teams contribute through community meals, food distribution, hospitality projects and the preservation of recipes and stories.

Please note: this concept is not yet an operating program. We are inviting aligned partners to help discern and responsibly shape a small, supervised first pilot.

Common questions

Clarity before commitment

Is partnering with United We Serve a merger of organizations?

No. The vision is collaboration among independent, aligned organizations. Each partner keeps its own identity, governance, mission and areas of expertise.

Is the partnership model already finalized?

No. This is an invitation to help shape a responsible model. Early conversations clarify fit, expectations, shared values, decision-making and practical safeguards.

What might a partnership look like?

Possibilities include programs, referrals, training, events, volunteer collaboration, adopted spaces or selected shared resources. Missionary care may include restorative stays, debriefing, counseling connections, family support and practical help before, during or after field service. The right form depends on each partner’s calling and capacity.

Does expressing interest create a commitment?

No. Sharing interest simply opens a conversation. Any future role, responsibility, cost, schedule or agreement would be defined together before any commitment is made.

Who is this partnership conversation for?

Ministry leaders, community organizations, trusted service providers, strategic supporters and prospective board members who value Christ-centered, relationship-driven collaboration.
